Welcome to the Forrest Island Room

One of Canada’s Gulf Islands, Forrest Island lies in the Strait of Georgia just off the coast near Sidney. It is spectacular example of a privately owned island, with just one residence, which is a 6,400 square foot lodge, plus a 7,500 square foot boathouse and a large work-shop. Electricity is supplied by an underwater cable from Vancouver Island, while wells provide fresh water. A web of trails and roads encourage exploration of the island’s 51 acres of natural beauty.

Draped in lush, old growth Gary Oak, Cedar, Maple, Arbutus and Douglas fir, the island is also abundant in fruit trees and berry bushes. Meadows dance with wild-flowers and seals sun on rocky fingers of land off the dozen beaches that ring the island.
